Hi. Welcome back to the Peptide Summit. I'm your host, Doctor Jen. Today we will be diving more into peptides and talking about peptides in functional medicine with Dr. Chris Turnpaugh. He is a skilled practitioner whose primary focus is finding and addressing the root cause of disease. He graduated from Life College of Chiropractic and received his post-doctorate in functional neurology. His interest in functional medicine began with the intent of helping a current patient, who was looking to address his whole health picture after an ALS diagnosis. Dr. Turnpaugh attended a seminar in 1995 given by Dr. Jeffrey Bland, the Father of Functional Medicine, and that began his career in root cause medicine. 

His passion for functional medicine led him to open The Turnpaugh Health and Wellness Center in 1999. He enjoys the overall care team approach and loves sharing knowledge with team patients and other providers. He has extensive experience in supporting patients who are dealing with the most difficult chronic, autoimmune, and neurological health conditions. He has a vast history of personal experience, consequently supporting Lyme disease, autoimmune diseases, fragile X syndrome, pediatric neurological conditions, thyroid disease, hormone conditions, and more. Dr. Turnpaugh teaches providers across the country about blood chemistry, thyroid conditions, brain disorders and other functional medicine trainings.

Chris Turnpaugh, DC, DACNB, AMFCP

Dr. Jen Pfleghaar is a double board-certified physician in Emergency and Integrative Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed residency at St. Vincent’s Mercy Hospital, and fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. She believes true wellness thrives when body, mind, and spirit are aligned with God’s design. Diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, she became passionate about autoimmune healing, hormone balance, and root-cause medicine. Dr. Jen co-authored Eat. Sleep. Move. Breathe., serves on the boards of the Invisible Disabilities Association and American Board of Integrative Medicine. Through her practice, Healthy by Dr. Jen, she provides virtual care and shares education as @integrativedrmom. She lives on a mini farm in Tennessee with her husband and four children. She loves cheering at her kids’ games, lifting weights, reading Scripture, and tending to her chickens.
