So I want to share a few case reports of some families, just so you can get a sense of the variety of symptoms in these families. So here's a family, they initially came to see me because of the three year old son, but it turned out that they really all had things going on. So their three year old was having a severe cough, just could not get recover from infections. He'd get one infection after another, whether it was ear infections, throat infections, or sinus infections. He was having low-grade years and night sweats all the time, and then some neurological things with some lip licking, extra blinking, lip licking, extra blinking. He wasn't growing properly. He was really low weight for his age and he was very lethargic. So, fortunately, with him, he started to recover pretty quickly, just getting them out of the house. We did find some signs of having a fungal infection. So I started him on an anti-fungal some topical glutathione, probiotics helping his methylation pathways with methyl cream, some magnesium, curcumin, CoQ10, and vitamin C. And he was recovering really, really well while they were doing remediation. The six year old daughter was having developmental delays, so she basically ended up with a diagnosis of autism and she was like one of the biggest parenting challenges was just her sensitivity in her body to textures and that kind of thing. And then the mom was having miscarriages. They really wanted another child and she just kept miscarrying over and over. She was feeling very anxious, fatigued, was having lots of headaches, and had heart-racing episodes that were really scary to her. And then the father was having night sweats, easy bruising, also getting recurrent infections, tingling in his hands, feet, and knee pain. So you can see that each one of the family members, even with the, you know, some of the shared genetics and the kids, their weak spots and their body was very, very different. 

So they were actually out of their house for almost a year. The remediate, they were very meticulous about things. So they really wanted to get and they were very scared for their children. So they wanted to get the best remediators and get everything super duper cleared. However, when they went back into the house, the symptoms started returning. So even though it looked clean by the best tests that they could do at the time, it didn't. It wasn't clean enough for their family. So they actually ended up moving to a new home. And what was really amazing is this has been about four years now. The daughter is now like off the charts from the standpoint of her social and intellectual abilities. She no longer has the autism diagnosis and she's just such a delight and leader and is doing amazing. Now they also have another child the miscarriage stopped so they have a daughter that's almost two. And they're all really, really excelling at doing well. 

And the second family I wanted to share with you started out actually with the mom. She was having some black spots her vision flared up with acne, fatigue, insomnia, and new onset asthma, and her periods were just a wreck, heavy, irregular. The father was having very, very short fuse, did not feel affected at all, but he was really craving sugar and alcohol, which is a common thing that I see as well. But then it turned out that their ten year old son had a diagnosis of PANS pandas with behavioral tics, severe separation anxiety, developmental regression, allergy, asthma, and brain fog. And then their seven-year-old son had asthma, kept getting strep infections, stuttering, and was, you know, having a difficult time learning. So their house had a chimney leak also. And then some significant problems with the master bath issues, with their carpeting, with the carpeting getting wet from some drainage problems. So they were able to remediate the house and all of these symptoms cleared up, including the PANS pandas, all the things for the mom, and then the son's asthma and recurrent infections. And they were just doing great.

And then about nine months later, they decided to go on vacation and walked into the place where they had the boat. And it was obviously mushy and water-damaged with the situation. They decided to try to tough it out anyway because they were all doing so well. But then they really had some of the symptoms come back pretty severely. The oldest son, his potty, you know, really triggered an immune system response with the asthma. The tics came back, some regression in his behavior, and the mom noticed some of those black spots in her vision came back. And the father, you know, got the short fuse came back. So, fortunately, we were able to get them back on track. And then the lesson learned, you know, if you, even on vacation, if you get into a place and you're pretty sure it's water damaged, it's not the best thing to do to stick with it. And so a lot of us really do have these instances where our bodies let us know that we're in something that we need to get out of. So, you know, for me it can be body pain. That's the most common thing to come back for me. But sometimes that can be some of the autoimmune issues with the Raynauds. And then family three and surround things out a bit more. Again it was the mom that came in for she was just so anxious, really incapacitating anxiety, OCD, feeling paranoid, you know, the thoughts in her head. She could know that they didn't make sense to have it. She couldn't help it. Just feeling very paranoid, tingling in her back and arms. She had a really difficult time sleeping. It did turn out that she had B1 and B12 deficiency. She was losing weight. Dizzy, sinus issue, cracked heels. And that's one of the things that is a clue for me, too, is that my heels start cracking if I'm in it long enough accidentally, the brain fog, really poor balance, severe light cramps, and some mood swings.

The daughter had sensory issues, mood swings, a really short fuse, would melt down easily, lots of infections, and turned out she actually had a dental abscess. Her immune system was so poor and then she was also getting cellulitis and molluscum. The son had some pretty severe behavioral tics and was very aggressive mood swings, bedwetting, which is a common thing. So the bladder can get really irritated. So bedwetting at night well past the age that should be happening, and transposed writing. The dad was pretty good. He just had some red eyes. That was the only symptom that he could come up with. And so they definitely when we realized that it was small, the test came back positive for mold. They moved out right away and they had a pretty significant problem in the basement. So, you know, the air just comes up from the basement. But then they also had a hidden roof leak in the son's room. And so with this family, the keys were methylation. We really had to get them to have some pretty significant SNPs, the mom and the kids. So we got them methylated better. They definitely needed the liposomal glutathione, binders this family you know with a lot of the neurological things they really, really benefited from Phosphorylcholine, and because the mitochondria were so damaged they needed mitochondrial support and probiotics. 

So I hope these examples help you to really not question the differences in your family or other people that you know and what their symptoms have been because the mold, the mycotoxins really do seem to find the most pathways that are the least resistant and resilient. The most probable to get injured by the mycotoxins and can show up in such an interesting collection of symptoms. And again, all of these people that I shared with you have totally recovered and they have learned the kinds of things that they need to do to keep their bodies healthy, like helping their bodies to detoxify and taking the appropriate medications, supplements, and the building blocks that they need for healthy mitochondria. Today, I want to answer one of the questions that I commonly get asked, and that is why do we see so much variation in family members even if they're exposed to the same things by living in the same house. And why is one person sick really seriously and another person's hardly affected or affected with something different or doesn't realize how affected they are? So the biggest answer to that question is that it can take time. So some people actually spend more time in the house than others. So often it'll be a stay-at-home mom who's there even if the kids are going to school and they just hit their barrel filling up where they're less able to get the toxins out because they have more of an exposure. The other thing is just variations in genetics. So some people have more robust systems for detoxifying, their immune systems are more balanced, they metalate better. They don't have the histamine issues. So, just even little differences between siblings can have a big difference in where the weaknesses are in the body. And then there are the different previous exposures. So one person might have eaten a lot more tuna fish and had more heavy metals build-up with the fish or somebody else might have been an artist and had more exposure to paint. Another person might have played soccer and so they're on the, you know, getting more of a pesticide exposure or from golf. So the different exposures can also be more synergistic. So even twins just in their preferences, identical twins can have a difference in how they're affected just because of their other synergistic toxins. But the bottom line is that mold toxins aren't good for anyone. So even if there are family members that don't seem to be affected at all, it's just a matter of time, especially if the exposure is big enough.
